Curtis and New Dorp HS football players attend epic Princeton-Harvard game

Student-athletes from both Curtis and New Dorp HS, along with coaches, attended last month’s epic college football contest between Harvard and Princeton. The Staten Islanders were treated to a meet-and-greet with players and coaches from Princeton’s program after the Tigers’ exhilarating 18-16 victory, which required five overtimes.

At the conclusion of the raucous contest, Curtis and New Dorp students joined the crowd as it rushed the field. The day also included a tailgate and leadership discussion prior to the game, as well as the post-game interaction.

Ten players from Curtis’ JV and varsity teams attended the game, as did JV coach Joe Baratta. New Dorp sent 12 players to the contest, accompanied by varsity coach Brian Murphy.
